The Electrical Safety Roundtable (ESR)
are delighted to be supporting Norfolk Fire & Rescue Service, Norfolk
County Council and NAPIT with their Electrical Fire Safety Campaign. The
campaign will run from the 30th November – 6th December
and will follow on from National Electrical Fire Safety Week. The campaign is
seeking to raise awareness around the dangers of electrical fires in homes and to
educate people about how to spot the early signs of danger to prevent accidents
happening.
The campaign will share facts and
statistics across social media over the week, raising awareness of the most
common causes of electrical fires.
The title L.I.V.E which carries
the campaign has a double meaning to signify life and live electrical current:
L – Look, listen, smell
I – Investigate and isolate
V – Visit
www.electricalcompetentperson.co.uk to find an approved electrician
E - Emergency, is your house on
fire call 999?
Chairman of
the Electrical Safety in the Home, Chris Bielby comments: “The Electrical
Safety Roundtable are thrilled to be supporting the LIVE campaign as part of
electrical fire safety week. Worrying statistics show that just under half of
house fires in England over the last five years have been caused by an
electrical fault. Electrical fires can have a
devastating impact, but many can be avoided and we want to help equip people
with the vital knowledge to keep them safe.”
