Reporting unsafe or non-compliant electrical installation work in homes

In partnership with TrustMark, the Electrical Safety Roundtable have created an online tool to enable the easy and quick reporting of unsafe or non-compliant electrical work found in homes.

This reporting tool can be used by anyone who finds unsafe or non-compliant electrical installation work and the information provided will help us understand the type and nature of unsafe and non-compliant electrical installation work in homes throughout the UK. This reporting tool is not for reporting issues found with electrical appliances.

The information collected will be analysed regularly and the results made public. The findings will help to quantify the level of risk posed by electrical installations to households and will be used to consider whether legislative changes are needed to enhance electrical safety standards.

We would like to thank you for the time you take to report any instances of unsafe or non-compliant electrical work you find. The more data we can collect, the more effective we can be in campaigning for enhanced electrical safety standards if the evidence suggests they are needed.

Please note that reporting unsafe or non-compliant electrical work using this form will not lead to any enforcement action being taken against those who undertook the unsafe or non-compliant work. It will help to quantify the level of risk posed to those living in homes with unsafe electrical installations.
